We believe in supporting organisations and networks who subscribe to Earlyarts principles. If you would like us to feature your organisation in the resource bank, please send us your link, a brief description and a logo or suitable image. In addition, please feel free to send us information for inclusion in the quarterly e-bulletin, including Case Studies, Training Courses, Job Opportunities, News or Events. Individual artists are also welcome to promote themselves on the artists database.

Earlyarts is the largest professional development network for people working creatively with children and families in the arts, cultural and early years sectors. The network provides a range of resources to develop the appropriate skillset for building creative learning environments and to embed a playful learning culture.

Submitting Text or Images:

Earlyarts strives to adhere to the W3C accessibility guidelines in the writing and formatting of all content on this site. Any text submitted should be written with the users of this site in mind, in a clear, easy to understand and non-patronising way. The earlyarts editor reserves the right to review and revise any text before publishing. The editor will attempt to remain true to the style and character of the submission, and will usually contact you to confirm any changes before publication. Content which does not meet clauses 2 and 3 of our terms and conditions will not be published.

 

Images of Children:

The safety of children is paramount, therefore all visuals will be checked to ensure they are suitable prior to publication. If any of your visuals contain children, please follow these guidelines:

  • We will only accept visuals of children if you have the express permission of the parent/guardian to use the visual on the earlyarts site. If you do not, you must ensure the visual is manipulated to ensure the children cannot be identified.
  • We will not accept visuals where children are inappropriately dressed.

 

Visuals can be accepted as follows:

  • A resolution of at least 600 pixels wide by 600 pixels high
  • True Colour (24 bits per pixel)
  • Saved as a TIFF or BMP in PC Format (file size typically 1MB - 6MB) or
  • Saved as a PNG (file size typically 500KB - 2MB) or
  • Saved as a JPG - only if no other format is possible! Quality setting of at least '80'
  • The saved file can be compressed using either WinZip or StuffIt and emailed to us, or sent on a CD-R or CD-RW disc.
  • MAC users should ensure that all files are saved onto a PC formatted disc
  • The disc should be clearly labelled with the artist's name and relevant filename(s).
  • All visual formats must be sharply focused, properly exposed and clearly labelled.
  • All prints should be scanned in and submitted in an electronic format, if they have not been taken with a digital camera. We cannot get involved in scanning images or editing video clips. However, in exceptional circumstances where you do not have access to a scanner but would like a certain visual image included, please contact us for further discussion.

Video / Animation / Audio Clips can be accepted as follows:

  • Clips should not exceed 10 minutes
  • They must be digitised and submitted on disk as MPEG1, QuickTime or AVI
  • Resolution of each clip must be at least 320 x 240 pixels (video/animation)
  • 24 bit colour depth (video/animation)
  • 25 frames / second (video/animation)
  • Please submit a still visual (in electronic format) which we can use as reference to the clip
