Manchester Museum - Collective Conversations

Collective Conversations is a community engagement project that has been running for several years to widen participation and has engaged diverse groups in conversation using museum objects. These conversations are filmed and uploaded to Youtube.

Wilbraham Primary school visited the museum in July 2009 and groups of children (4 -7 yrs) were filmed handling and talking about objects from Nature Discovery - a new gallery at Manchester Museum for young children and families(part of the Darwin festival). SureStartManchesterLogoMartenscroft nursery school and SureStart centre. These conversations were filmed at the end of a series of visits and show the children handling animals from the natural history collection and feature a painting they did at the centre with an artist based on their visits to the natural history galleries and vivarium.
