Under-the-Parasol-1

TuttiFruttiLogoA unique pilot project by Tutti Frutti supported by Education Leeds - Artforms, Under the Parasol comprised a 30-minute performed story telling of Hue Boy by Rita Phillips Mitchell and Caroline Binch. It played to thirty children at each performance and had an accompanying one hour workshop. The work was targeted for key stage one children in Leeds schools.

Under-the-Parasol-7 Tutti Frutti provided a simple setting consisting of a beautiful parasol and an array of props and uncomplicated costumes. The children sat under the parasol whilst experiencing and participating in the performance. tutti frutti provided a duplicate setting which was left with the school for the following day to enable the staff in the school to utilise it creatively with the children.

Under-the-Parasol-4Thank you for a wonderful day and one which has sparked enthusiasm in our classroom and children's homes.  It also provided our children with an opportunity to experience stories from other cultures. Rothwell St Marys Primary School

An excellent experience for the children which was very valuable particularly relevant for a class of 21 boys and 6 girls was the fact that the storytellers were men.  Thank youMoortown Primary School
