10.00 Earlyarts Welcome – Liz Hill, Director, Daisi and Ruth Churchill Dower, Director, Earlyarts
10.45 A celebration of the emergence of creative partnerships for the early years in Devon and Cornwall
- Hugh Nankivell, Composer – an introduction to Piano Dances, a collaborative project between composers, dancers, nursery school children and their staff in Japan, at the Sage Gateshead and the Baltic Gallery
- Jenny Liggins, Head of Early Learning, Devon LDP (Learning and Development Partnership, Devon County Council) – opportunities for creative partnerships within the Early Years Foundation Stage and the Local Authority perspective on good practice in Devon
- Philippa Wood, Family Learning Officer at RAMM (Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter) – The creation of Robert the Rat at St Nicholas Priory through partnership with a local children’s centre
- Amanda Harris, Director, KEAP (Kernow Arts Education Partnership, Cornwall) – embedding confidence and sustainability through arts partnership with a children’s centre in the Launceston cluster and creating an early years arts manifesto for Cornwall
12:45 Earlyarts Knowledge – key events coming up in the sector, review of the latest research and publications.
13.00 Networking - LUNCH. Please bring sandwiches or money for the cafe
13.30 CPD Workshops – two practical sessions, each one hour long, underpinned with the latest theory
Workshop 1: Exploring movement awareness and dialogue with young children and introducing Vivian-Gussin Paley's work with stories and storysquare, led by performing artist Pip Jones
Workshop 2: An introduction to printmaking with the under 5’s led by artist Simon Ripley who has developed his approaches through projects with early years children at Ilfracombe Infant and Nursery School, Landscore Primary School in Crediton, and outdoors at Haldon Forest Park near Exeter.
