Earlyarts Professional Development Day for the East Midlands area

10.00 am – 4.00 pm (Coffee available from 9.30am)
Theme: Composing & Songwriting in Early Years settings – These workshops will cover how to develop and arrange ideas and to create songs with and for early years. This is suitable for absolute beginners, as well as more experienced practitioners who would like to try some new ideas. Composing is great fun for kids and a fantastic way to encourage creativity, explore rhyme and meter and to develop pulse and rhythm.
For: Artists, early years practitioners, heads of centres, cultural managers, local authority advisors, early years professionals, arts or cultural organisations… anyone who would like to join in with music activities and Early Years children!
Programme:
10.00am Welcome
10.15am Creative Practice Exposed – A taster of a soundLINCS Early Years Music Session
11.00am Early Years Composition & Songwriting Part 1 – games and activities that encourage young children to develop their arrangement and improvisation skills.
12.30pm Lunch and Networking (please bring your own sandwiches or money for local cafe)
1:30pm Early Years Composition & Songwriting Part 2 – creating simple songs with young children
3:15pm Meet a Funder! – soundLINCS is delighted to offer you the opportunity to talk to Beth Noble, Relationships Manager from the Arts Council
3.45pm Questions and Answers – your chance to ask any questions relating to the day
16:00pm Date of next PDD and finish
