- Practical Session - Using Museum collections with nursery settings
- Presentation - Case study: Littlehampton Museum Project
12.30 – 1.00 Earlyarts Knowledge Session – connecting you with the wider world of creativity in early years – other projects, information and resources plus a guide to using the Earlyarts website
1.00 – 1.45 Lunch – optional tour of the museum
1.45 – 3.45 Two one hour sessions repeated over the afternoon***

- Presentation - 'How Red is Red?'

*How to get here
The museum is located in the heart of Brighton city centre within the Royal Pavilion estate. It is a 15 minute walk from Brighton train station. Buses stop either outside the Royal Pavilion on Pavilion Parade or on North Street, which is five minutes walk from the museum. The entrance to the museum is in the Royal Pavilion gardens. The museum is fully disabled and wheelchair accessible

Practical Session
Using Museum collections with nursery settings Led by Michael Olden, Early Years Learning Officer, Royal Pavilion & Museums and a local nursery practitioner, the session will explore how handling objects and using loan boxes can generate activities.
Presentation
Case study: Littlehampton Museum Project Led by Jane Sedgewick General Adviser Art, Design, Culture and the Arts, WSCC, this session will share an example of schools working in partnership with their local museum. Reception children used digital media to document a farm visit for the exhibition ‘Metaphors of Memory’. Digital media was also used to engage children in looking more closely at the exhibition.

Practical Session
Ideas for documentation Led by Jane Gordon, Artist. How can children be encouraged to record and document their experiences of visits to museums and galleries – this session offers some practical and creative ideas.
Presentation
'How Red is Red?' Angela Rogers of engage Cymru will introduce 'How Red is Red - A Toolkit for Arts in the Early Years'. A practical toolkit about teaching and learning through the visual arts in the Foundation Phase (3-7 year olds).
